I haven't read it yet, but it sounds great! It takes place during the summer of 1944 and Lily's father is away at war. Do you know which war was taking place in 1944? Lily's Crossing is also a Newberry Honor book!
Where are all of our 6th graders! I know Brynn isn't the only one reading this summer! (Way to go, Brynn!) The rest of you guys better get busy! Don't forget to post your comments about Lily's Crossing on the blog! You can also comment on any other good books you are reading this summer!
I am on Chapter 5 and so far I really like it! I like that it takes place during World War II. Lily is going to spend her summer in Rockaway with her grandmother. That would be fun! I look forward to seeing how her summer turns out!
Hey Mrs. Lowery, Do you think Lily's Crossing is a good book? I think it is a really good book to read for the summer! Lily, who is also on summer break, is turning out to have a good summer. She is having a good summer because she met a a new boy named Albert who she is trying to get to know when he doesn't want her to.
I am enjoying it Cade! Can you imagine what it would of been like to grown up during this time period? No technology?? No laptop?? Wow. Times were sure simplier. So, does Albert eventually get to know Lily? Do they become best friends? Is Albert hiding something?
I'm sure that I have read this book before, but I'm going to get it so I can read it again. Since it is set in the 1940s, you students should remember what was going on during this time. Keep reading!
I can't believe no one has blogged since I was on the first time. Come on, guys. I did read this book a week ago. I had NOT read it before, but I did enjoy it. How would you feel if your dad or mom told you that they were going into the service the day before he/she were leaving? See you a few weeks.
I read this book a couple of weeks ago; I had not read it before. I can't imagine having my dad tell me that he was leaving to join the service the day before he left. See you in a few weeks. Miss Williamson
I wonder if this will be a good book? I can't wait to read it this summer!
